Busch Gardens Tampa Bay offers guests the most intense safari experience outside Africa where the world's most fascinating animals will be encountered closer than ever before. Premiering in the summer of 1997, the "Edge of Africa" will create the total sensory experience of journeying on foot through the wilds and native villages of Africa. This 15-acre area, the largest animal expansion in the park's history, will transport guests to a distant world in pursuit of encounters with hippopotamuses, giraffes, lions, baboons, meerkats, crocodiles, hyenas and other fascinating species.
